Shop office desk v0
Since moving into the new space, I've been working there about half the week, on a tiny half desk. The half desk is a COVID refugee - we had podded up with another family and hired a teacher for the children during remote learning. The living room and children's bedrooms were converted into half school rooms. The half desk was one of the children's and it's been kicking around the house since.
I decide the first project for the new jointer is a desk for myself. Something at least attempting to be nice. To date, all I've really aimed for are things that are at least unlikely to fall apart.

I have enough walnut and cherry, and decide to use the walnut.

I got really lucky with that grain. I love it. I do not love the legs, but they were cheap and quick to acquire. I'll build a real desk body at some point - legs, a tapered drawer. But for now, it works and it's nice to look at.
My spouse is a gardener and I ask her to help me get some plants for the shop. New desk, plants, really spoiling myself here.
